Meeting with Me
I know how hard to can be to find time in your busy day to come to therapy, and I also know how important it is for you to be able to access help in making the necessary changes to live the life you want to be living. That’s why I offer sessions in office, online through a secure video conferencing platform, and outside in nature as we walk and talk. All sessions are 50 minutes long and you’re welcome to try any and all of them.
In the Office
We can meet in my office at 25 Middle Street in Portland, which office offers a warm and private setting for the therapeutic process.
Online
With online (also called) telehealth sessions, women all across Maine can get expert help from a maternal mental health specialist without ever leaving the comfort of their own home or office. As long as you have an Internet connection and a private space, we can meet for counseling sessions. Busy schedules, lack of a sitter, bad weather, or travel challenges won’t get in the way of getting the care and support you deserve.
In Nature
I also offer Walk & Talk therapy, which is exactly as it sounds. Instead of a traditional session in my office, we take the therapy outside. We take a gentle walk (along the East End trail near my office or somewhere closer to your home) and talk.
Some clients are more comfortable when journeying side by side, and find it easier to think on their feet. Not only is being in nature soothing and mood boosting, the physical activity helps release tensions and stimulates new thoughts. Plus walk-and talk sessions are especially well-suited for moms, as you can bring the baby in a stroller and get 2 for 1 self care—therapy and a walk outside.

Hours
I offer flexible scheduling and see clients Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Fees and Insurance
My self-pay rate is $100 for a standard 50-minute individual session and $120 for a couples session.. Self pay allows you to maintain greater privacy and confidentiality, as well as schedule sessions on your own terms. No formal diagnosis is required to justify counseling, but we will work with any prior formal diagnosis as appropriate. Payment is due in full on the date of service and I accept cash, check, credit card and Venmo.

I am an "out-of-network" provider. Most insurances have out-of-network benefits that cover 60-80% of the session fee. Please contact your insurance company to determine the specific benefits of your policy, and I’ll be happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company to get reimbursed directly. Superbills include your mental health diagnosis and the service provided, but don’t contain any private details about what was discussed and do not give your insurance company the right to review anything in your file.
If you want to get started with counseling but feel that you cannot afford my full fee at this time, I offer a reduced rate on a case-by-case basis. Please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m also happy to find other resources that may be a better fit for your current situation.
Cancellation
As much as I want to be flexible every time something comes up, I appreciate your understanding that sessions cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged. If you arrive late to a session, we will meet for the remaining session time and you will be charged your full session fee.
