How Therapy Works
Therapy may seem mysterious or intimidating. But it doesn’t have to...here’s how we’ll work together:

Schedule your free phone consultation with me.
This is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy and how I might be able to support you. Together we’ll figure out whether we’re a good fit for each other, and how often meeting makes sense based upon what you want to achieve. If you’re seeking something outside my scope, I’ll to refer you to other therapists whose work I respect.
2.
Set your goals.
In our first sessions, we’ll formulate personally meaningful goals and realistic milestones that will focus our work together and help you track your progress and stay motivated. Therapy can be hard work—these goals ensure that your time, money and effort aren’t wasted.
3.
Show up and open up.
Each appointment is 50 minutes long. They’re a combination of discussion, exercises, and proven therapeutic methods. We’ll work together on whatever is most pressing in your life. Keep in mind, the more effort you put into our sessions, the more you’ll get out of them. So you’ll want to be honest and curious—with me and with yourself.
4.
Get unstuck and reach your full potential.
Over time, therapy will help you become more connected to your genuine self—your fears, your desires, your hang-ups, your sense of humor—and you will feel empowered to choose how you want to live, even when crises do arise.
